Position Type: Support Staff/Paraprofessional Date Posted: 4/9/2026 Location: Chapman Elementary School Closing Date: Until Filled District:   Gibraltar School District  Additional Information: Show/Hide TITLE: At Risk Aide Category E.1 Chapman Elementary School QUALIFICATIONS: Meets State of MI requirements for Title 1 Paraprofessional (one of the following required) At least 60 post-secondary credit hours, Associates degree, or Passing score on Basic Skills MTTC or ETS Parapro Assessment A passing score of at least 480 on the evidence-based reading and writing section of the SAT and 530 on the mathematics section in lieu of the Basic Skills Test or Professional Readiness Exam ETS Parapro Assessment Passing scores required: * Reading for Information 4; and * Applied Mathematics 4; and * Writing 3 (Business Writing was NOT approved) Demonstrated interest in children and education. Evidence of emotional maturity and stability. Ability to encourage positive student behavior. Knowledgeable in behavior management, techniques and data collection. Such additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Principal JOB GOAL: Will work under the overall supervision of the building principal with direct supervision provided by general education and special education teachers to provide support to at-risk students. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the facilitator and classroom teachers. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities. Work with other professionals, such as speech therapist, social worker, occupational and physical therapists. Assist with maintenance of required records, administration of classroom assessment, and completion of classroom work. Other responsibilities assigned by principal.
