The VA Sioux Falls HCS is recruiting (1) intermittent Hospitalist. The Hospitalist reports directly to the Chief Hospitalist and provides consultation services and follow up of medical sub-specialty patients, in the inpatient setting, at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. The staff Hospitalist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties: * Admission, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, including consultation, of patients presenting with general medical complaints, diseases, and injuries. * Core privileges include the ability to perform a history and physical exam, form a differential diagnosis, order and interpret labs and other diagnostic tests such as plain films and EKGs, develop and implement treatment plans, order subspecialty consultations and provide appropriate follow-up care. * Core privileges also include triage of patients with non-medicine complaints, diseases, and injuries to appropriate disciplines for diagnosis and treatment. * Experienced and privileged in Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Lumbar Punctures, and Stress Tests preferred.
