Job Description

* Please note this is a Part-time position: 2-2.5 hours per day. Objective: The Part-Time Lunch Aide assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment during student lunch periods. This role involves supervising students in the cafeteria and/or on the playground, assisting with meal distribution, ensuring proper behavior, and promoting a positive, respectful atmosphere. Typically, this position is part-time during school lunch hours. Essential Functions: * Supervise students in the cafeteria, playground, or designated lunch areas to ensure safety and appropriate behavior. * Assist younger students with opening food containers, using utensils, and cleaning up after meals. * Monitor food lines and help maintain an orderly flow of students. * Encourage good table manners, cooperation, and respectful interactions. * Respond calmly and effectively to student issues or conflicts; report serious concerns to appropriate staff. * Clean tables, chairs, and floors before and after lunch periods; dispose of trash properly. * Assist custodial staff with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. * Ensure compliance with school policies and safety procedures. * *Perform other duties as assigned or required. Professionalism: * To be punctual and be available during official working hours. * To comply with AAMA policies, standards, rules, regulations, and procedures. * To take precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities. * To participate responsibly in the school's improvement initiatives. * To demonstrate timeliness and attendance for assigned responsibilities. * To work collaboratively with other professionals and staff. * To provide and accept evaluative feedback professionally. * Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about school personnel. Working Conditions: * Work is performed primarily indoors (cafeteria) and occasionally outdoors (playground). * Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 25 lbs.). * Exposure to noise and varying temperatures depending on location. Required Education and Qualifications: * High School diploma or equivalent * Required: Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) * Required: Prior experience working with children. * Ability to supervise and manage groups of students in a positive, fair, and consistent manner. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Dependability, patience, and a caring attitude toward children.
