SPORTS OFFICIAL - ATHLETICS PARKS AND RECREATION ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT SPORTS OFFICIAL PAY PER GAME PART-TIME/NO BENEFITS Job Functions: * Manage players and coaches the field/court. * Ensure safe environment for participants by inspecting the playing area before the games. * Resolve on site disputes involving player conflict. * Master rules and mechanics of game. * Dress neatly and appropriately. * Ensure standards of play and game rules are observed. * Responsible for the control of all games and other duties and assigned. Other Job Functions: * Attend required training sessions and demonstrate proficiency in understanding of rules and procedures. * Conduct coach's meetings prior to each game. * Report results and scores of games to Supervisor as well as any infractions. * Attend all offered training sessions throughout the year. * Ensure correct attire of each participant, no jewelry or prohibited equipment Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics: * Enforce established rules during games. * Arrive prepared and on time to all scheduled shifts. * Call all games with complete honesty and integrity. * Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Education and Experience: * Previous paid experience as an official preferred. Special Requirements: * American Red Cross First Aid / CPR / AED certifications highly preferred or must obtain within 3 months of hire. * Bartlett resident preferred but not required. * Must pass a driver's license and background check and a physical exam/drug screen. * Minimum age 16.
