Under the immediate supervision of the Medical Imaging Supervisor the MRI Technologist, is responsible for conducting routine MRI procedures and ensuring all Physician and customer needs are met through clinical and administrative tasks.Perform MRI ExamsPerform MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocolsAble to assess plan and provide individualized care for patients taking into account the mental status development and physical needs of each patient based on ageMaintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)Assist with training new staff and students as assignedFollow all radiation safety and infection control guidelinesProvide patient and family education related to MRI examsCommunicate effectively with Radiologists and referring providers regarding patient findings and exam needsParticipate in departmental quality improvement and continuing education activitiesOperate MRI equipment and monitor image quality, making technical adjustments as neededEnsure patient safety and comfort, including screening for contraindications to MRI.PACSEnsures all computed and digital images are properly archived on Synapse Scan Documents in a timely manner Trouble shoot as neededPush images to other HospitalsBurn Cd's/and enter Tech notes into each exam completedHIS/RISEnsures timely reporting of examsCharges exams correctlyPrints Schedules and checks Patient orders Confirms patient identity with two identifiers.Organizational ExpectationsAttendance: Attendance is an essential job function; employee comes to work daily, on time, and completes their scheduled shiftHIPAA: facilitates to maintain patient confidentialityInternal Communication: contributes to positive team performance and a culture of service excellence through effective communication, active listening, and respectInterpersonal Relationships: maintains appropriate interpersonal relationships with staff, patients, and visitors at all times. Clinical Rotations will be considered. Must be registered with the ARRT. RT required or Registered MR. ARRT (MR) preferred or eligibility to obtain within 18 months of hireMust be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Current BLS Certification Varied hours dependent on need. May included rotation to evenings, nights and weekends. Call and holiday rotation is required.
