Org Level 1 Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso Position Description This position will serve as a counseling resource to the University community by performing such duties as individual counseling (based on a brief therapy model/philosophy), crisis intervention, assessment, case management, referral, training, group counseling, and on-call responsibilities. In addition, participation in campus events such as orientations and outreach programming for the university community in areas related to student health and belonging. Requisition ID 44372BR Travel Required Up to 25% Major/Essential Functions * Provide affirming mental health counseling services and resources to TTUHSC El Paso students, both in-person and virtually. * Perform such duties as brief individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, training, and consultation. * Complete appropriate clinical documentation on all client and consultation contacts in a timely manner and in compliance with ethical standards. * Actively contribute to fostering an environment and culture of belonging by identifying ways to ensure clinical care and policies are equitable and programming and services cultivate a sense of belonging. * Focus on the safety and well-being of all students, and participate in trainings and community engagement. * Develop collaborative relationships with the university community by interacting and initiating contacts with student groups, organizations, and departments serving specific student populations such as commuters, first-generation students, and international students. * Assist with the assessment and consultation for students dealing with behavioral concerns (self-harm, social withdrawal, eating disorders, substance abuse, etc.) * Collaborate with appropriate campus staff in order to provide quality care and support student success. * Manage follow-up with students managing multiple stressors and/or students who are active clients and have been hospitalized to ensure appropriate supports are in place to optimize student success and safety. * Participate in regular staff meetings, case consultations, and professional development training. * Stay current on health and mental health issues, particularly as they relate to college student populations. Participate in continuing education as required for state licensure. * Present and assist with proactive and engaging campus-based mental health educational programming. * Facilitate mental health outreach and programming through social media and live campus events. Topics may include depression and anxiety, social skills, anger management, violence prevention, healthy relationships, decision-making skills, etc. * May join committees that have a wellness focus in order to assist and enhance support for student mental health and belonging. * Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). * Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. * Personally demonstrate, display and act in accordance with TTUHSC EP's Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork).
