Duties Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team at Central Office. This full-time position is essential in promoting the health and well-being of our students and staff. The School Nurse will provide comprehensive health services, support health education initiatives, and collaborate with educators and families to foster a safe and healthy learning environment. A Professional Educator License (PEL) is required for this role. Responsibilities * Assess and evaluate students' health needs through screenings and health assessments. * Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic health conditions. * Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with school policies and state regulations. * Provide first aid and emergency care for students and staff as needed. * Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote health education and awareness. * Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. * Conduct health education programs and workshops for students, staff, and families. * Monitor and manage communicable diseases within the school community, including reporting to health authorities as necessary. * Serve as a resource for health-related issues and provide guidance to students and families regarding health and wellness. * Participate in school committees and initiatives focused on improving student health and safety. * Stay updated on current health trends, state laws, and regulations related to school health services. Qualifications * Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with a school nurse endorsement. * Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. * Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state. * Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric nursing preferred. * Strong knowledge of child development, health promotion, and disease prevention. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and staff. * Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * CPR and First Aid certification required. * Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in school health. Salary/Benefits This is a full-time equivalent position. Starting pay is $38/hour.
