A healthcare facility in Brooklyn, NY is seeking two experienced pharmacists for a 13-week contract with a potential transition to permanent employment based on performance. This role requires strong expertise in home infusion pharmacy and IV certification to support patient care and medication management. Key Responsibilities: Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify over-usage patterns. Ensure compliance with legal regulations regarding medication supply. Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for each patient. Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files. Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer their questions. Provide additional patient services, including smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring. Educate patients on the proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications safely for internal or external use. Prepare sterile IV solutions following established protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Maintain adequate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues and optimize patient outcomes. Qualifications and Experience: Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) required. Valid New York State pharmacy license in-hand. Prior IV pharmacy experience mandatory, preferably with home infusion expertise. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
