The Healthy Aging Program Manager is a dynamic leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations, strategic direction, and programming to support older adults in the City of Amesbury. This role is ideal for an innovative professional who can independently manage day-to-day activities while transforming program delivery both in the Costello Center and across the community. Reporting to the Director of Public Wellness, the Manager exercises independent judgment in operational and programmatic decision-making. Outreach and social services functions are managed by other staff members in the Department of Public Wellness and are not part of this role. Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative, intergenerational programs that meet the evolving needs of the community.Monitor program participation, track and report outcomes to assess community impact and adapt offerings to meet needs and interests.Oversee daily programming and activities, ensuring a safe, organized, and inclusive environment for participants and staff.Identify and cultivate partnerships with schools, local organizations, and community groups.Collaborate with the Friends of the Council on Aging, an independent non-profit, to inform resource allocation as needed.Work collaboratively with the Council on Aging Board of Directors to implement board policies, provide professional recommendations, and ensure effective planning, coordination, and delivery of services for older adults within the community.Facilitate alignment between city leadership, community partners, and stakeholders on strategic direction and community needs.Maintain and/or establish communication methods to share programming, information, educational material and upcoming events with constituents.Manage the Senior & Veteran Tax Work Off program in partnership with the Assessor's Office and other city departments.Responsible for the supervisions and management and approximately 18 volunteers and a part-time van driver.Other duties as assigned from time to time. Supervision Reports to the Director of Public Wellness, receiving weekly guidance while exercising independent judgment in daily operations and program implementation. Minimum Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in program management, community programming, or related leadership roles.Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational, communication, and creative problem-solving skills.Experience with newsletter creation, social media, and community outreach.Proven ability to build partnerships and create intergenerational programs.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic design/communication platforms.Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Human Services, Public Administration, Gerontology, Community Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.CPR/First Aid certification.Experience with municipal or nonprofit aging programs.Grant writing or fundraising experience.
