Patient Care Technician (PCT) InstructorLocation: Kansas City, MOWork Type: Hybrid Job Family: Education / InstructionIndustry: Healthcare / EducationLevel: InstructorCompensation: $20.00- $24.00 (Competitive, based on experience/education) A Typical Day at Kansas City School of PhlebotomyAs a PCT Instructor, you will guide and support students through hands-on clinical training and classroom instruction. You will foster a positive learning environment, promote professionalism, and prepare students with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in patient care roles.Instruct students in patient care skills and clinical proceduresTeach students how to collect, monitor, and document vital signs, intake and output, and other patient dataTrain students to assist with patient hygiene, personal care, and activities of daily living (ADLs)Guide students in assisting with medical procedures and diagnostic testingInstruct on technical skills including EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, point-of-care testing, and specimen collectionTeach safe patient mobility, ambulation, and transfer techniquesEmphasize infection control, safety standards, and clinical best practicesProvide instruction on medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiologyPromote ethical behavior, professionalism, and HIPAA complianceFoster effective communication skills and teamwork within healthcare environmentsRequirementsRequirements: Minimum of 3 years of relevant field experienceHigh school diploma or equivalentAuthorized to work in the USPreferred but not required: Previous teaching experienceCertificate in Patient Care Technician.
