Description:The temporary Berea Kids Eat Meal Program Associate will help implement summer meal service through Grow Appalachia's Berea Kids Eat program; including organizing meal sites; serving meals to youth ages 18 and under; collaborating with community partners and stakeholders; working with and supporting college-aged student staff and/or interns; and supporting Grow Appalachia's Nutrition Programs Coordinator and other College staff to ensure proper meal documentation processes and compliance. This position would also be responsible for helping the Nutrition Programs Coordinator with inventory of food and other supplies that will help inform what to order weekly, as well as helping coordinate and direct a team of student Interns, Staff, and Community Volunteers during meal service at various sites. This position may have evening and/or weekend hours required which would be communicated prior to that time. Your Key Responsibilities: Working closely with the Nutrition Programs Coordinator other Berea Kids Eat Program Staff, the Berea Kids Eat Meals Program Associate will help ensure compliant locally sourced and high-quality meals are being delivered to Berea Community Youth as part of the Summer Meals Program.Work directly with students and interns in support of Summer Meal Service. Serve Multiple Day and Bulk Summer Meals to youth ages 18 and under at a static central community site, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and regulations. Complete all required USDA SUN Meals (formerly the Summer Food Service Program) documentation in coordination with the Nutrition Programs Coordinator and other Compliance Staff accurately and within required timelines. Ensure thorough site set up and clean up.Working closely with the Nutrition Programs Coordinator and community members, the Meals Program Associate will help coordinate the Berea Kids Eat Community Sites which could include the Madison County Public Library, Berea Arts Council, Levitt Amp Music Series, and other external Berea Kids Eat sites. Working closely with the Nutrition Programs Coordinator, the SUN Meals Program Associate would be responsible for supporting food and other stocking supplies and inventory to help ensure accurate numbers of items ordered and distributed. The Meals Program Associate will work closely with the Nutrition Programs Coordinator and other Grow Appalachia staff to help gather feedback from community and student participants throughout and after the summer to help reflect and prepare for subsequent summers.
