Position Description - What the Role Entails:The Case Aide will provide direct service to At-Risk Youth with the goal of successful transition into the community. The position requires general supervision of Participants, teaching proper daily living and social skills, implementation of the daily schedule, behavior management, crisis intervention, group work, implementation of recreational activities, report writing and records management, and overseeing all other aspects of daily living for the residents. Many of our employees span an extended tenure, and we pride ourselves on developing dedicated and supported team members.Areas of Accountability - What you will be doing:Assist Case Manager by managing Participant filesAdvise Participants regarding proper services and non-clinical support services as needed.Provide oversite whereabouts and activities of all assigned residents during the scheduled shift of a 24-hour dayMaintains current knowledge through participation in mandatory trainingResponsible for conveying information/directives as it relates to Case Manager/RA's role in providing continuing daily living skillsFollows all RFS Child Welfare/Agency policies and procedures in the performances of dutiesUtilizes available program resources and materials to meet the needs of the residentsUnderstands and appropriately utilizes the established Transitional Living Program StandardsManages the behavior of Participants through use of approved behavioral management interventions and works with residents toward the accomplishments of goalsFairly and consistently enforces rules and applies appropriate consequences as neededImplements individual management plans for Participants through a teamwork approach and makes suggestions to the team based on observations and interactions with the residentsEffectively manages the daily routine and follows program schedulesEffectively leads Life Skills groups per level responsibilitiesAssists Participants in identifying behavioral alternatives and selecting appropriate behaviorsEffectively addresses and resolves conflict between ParticipantsManages daily routines and monitors the safety conditions and overall cleanliness of the Participant unitsProvides transportation for Participants as needed but within program guidelinesFollows all policies, procedures, protocol, and safety directives in order to create and maintain a consistent, predictable, and safe environment.Maintains alertness to potentially unsafe situations and responds to maintain a safe environment for allMonitors resident behavior to ensure that they are not a danger to themselves, other residents, or to staffProvides a positive, stable role model and authority figure for ParticipantsWorks with assigned "primary" Participant and reports on primary Participants' progress in team meetingsConsiders any cultural factors that may be impacting the Participant or his/her level of participation in servicesParticipates in team meetings, supervisory sessions and other program meetings, on a regular basisEstablishes positive working relationships with team members, other staff, and outside contracts who are involved with the residentsDocument daily case notes, shift updates, daily flour checks, living skills, life skills and other information regarding to participants' behavioral and care according to the programs policies and procedures All other duties as assigned.Rincon Rewards & Benefits- How we value you:Health insurance Dental & Vision insuranceLife insurance Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance 403(b) Retirement PlanGenerous PTO (Paid time off)- Accrue up to 21 days in Year 1, some PTO carryover allowable. Traveling to and from meetings is required as necessary.ANNUAL TRAININGS:As part of this organization's commitment to quality service, all staff must complete the following trainings annually, however other trainings will be scheduled based on the program or funding requirements.Schedule:9:00-5:00. However, emergencies may require a flexible scheduleLanguage:Must be able to speak English.RINCON FAMILY SERVICES IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERRequirementsThe Knowledge and Expertise that Matters Most - What you bring to the Role:Ability to work effectively with peers, individual clients, and groupsDesire to learn new skillsKnowledge of community and social service agenciesAbility to maintain accurate records and necessary paperworkKnowledge of de-escalation methods or ability to be trained in de-escalation methodPosition Qualifications - What is required to Perform the Role:Must be at least 21 years of age.Must have high school diploma/GED or related degreeAll Case Aides shall have an initial medical examination that provides evidence that they are free of communicable diseases, including active tuberculosis or physical and mental conditions that affect their ability to perform assigned duties and shall be reexamined every two yearsMust have demonstrated skills in the field of childcare or the capacity to develop such skillsMust have demonstrated ability to work within agency structure and program and to accept agency supervisionMust have demonstrated ability to work constructively with parents, other agenciesand the communityExperience and/or knowledge of the use of computer software for data entry, communication, and writing reportsMust be open and respectful of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of clients and is willing and competent to work with a diverse client populationMust be able to work as a team memberMust have a valid Illinois driver's license and reliable automobileMust have excellent organizational and communication skills; detail oriented and writing skills a mustMust pass required background checks.
