Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.Summary:Job Summary: The Medical Student Affairs Education Coordinator - Academic Support will work closely with the Registrar's Office, Office of Financial Aid, Office of Student Affairs and the OIME to monitor students' academic progress through the Rush Medical College Curriculum. This role is responsible for the management and execution of all elements of the academic support and academic status processes. The coordinator will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Other information:Required Job Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree • At least two years of work experience• Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Professional demeanor • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional with strong keyboard skills• Proficiency in multiple video meeting platforms • Familiarity with educational terminology• Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, set goals, and manage multiple complicated tasks, working with minimal or no supervision• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Performs as a team player • Takes initiative and represents the college independently • Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with confidential information• Ability to anticipate problems before they arise and solve others as they occur• Ability to multi-task with very detail-oriented projects • This job may require some evenings and weekends Preferred Job Qualifications:• Five or more years work experience • Prior experience in medical education or higher education• Experience working across enterprise platforms and learning management systems Physical Demands:• Able to sit for extended periods • Able to work on-site at least 40% of the time • Able to work extended (10-12 hour) workdays • Able to transport food and parcels short distances (Competencies: Disclaimer:The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements.Responsibilities:Job Responsibilities:• Coordinate and lead Academic Progress Meetings reviewing the academic and professionalism status of all medical students (M1-M4), including those on Leave of Absence (LOA), or who have withdrawn.• Provide central support for the following committees: Committee on Student Evaluation and Promotion (COSEP), Special Committee on the RMC Environment (SCORE), Honor Code Council, OIME's Professionalism Team, and the Ad-Hoc Dismissal Panel.• Manages the Leave of Absence (LOA) and withdrawal process, including initiating and overseeing completion of the process.• Coordinate, schedule meetings, and take meeting minutes for the various committees.• Prepare meeting materials for committee members for all committees and support the committee chairs in fulfilling their responsibilities.• Utilize various data systems to obtain, verify, and maintain accurate student academic status across different files and documents. • Prepare annual data reports for committee chairs.• Draft and verify student communications regarding committee outcomes, as directed by committee chairs, while ensuring confidentiality of materials and communications.• Coordinate the Positive Learning Environment Awards, including distributing a survey to all medical students (M1-M4) to identify recipients across various learning environments. Compiles results, identifies awardees, and prepares and distributes awards to the appropriate stakeholders.• Promote a positive and productive environment, encouraging teamwork and communication, and demonstrating a collaborative, and innovative attitude toward the program.• Independently problem-solve when issues arise and seek assistance when unable or unsure how to solve a problem.• Maintain high standards of customer service, productivity, and Rush core values.
