Job Description

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until May 4th, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be Feb 20th, with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks. Eligible applications received after that date will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. Maintains competency in all aspects of psychiatric care. * Maintains current medication management, including adverse reactions and their appropriate treatment. * Uses appropriate documentation to record patients' medical history and all aspects of the patients' Psychiatric course of treatment. * Physicians are expected to participate in assuring compliance with clinical practice guidelines and to work collaboratively with others, to create a system to promote state of the art acute, chronic and prevention of mental health care and to keep abreast of changes as appropriate. * Psychiatrists are expected to attend and participate in staff meetings, the peer review process, as well as maintain VA training requirements and completion of documentation and upkeep of credentials required for privileging.
