This position involves hands-on work in the laboratory, applying coatings, running experiments, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment in a test lab environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of performing both manual and automated laboratory tasks.Key Responsibilities:• Prepare automotive coatings test panels/parts using automated application equipment. • Perform equipment metrology, preventative maintenance, and coatings tests accurately. • Record and report data/results following scientific methods. • Maintain and adjust mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic laboratory equipment. • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with safety protocols. • Prioritize work, maintain accurate records, and adapt to changing schedules and assignments. • Run experimental spray trials and document results systematically. • Ensure punctual attendance and maintain professional work conduct. Required Skills & Competencies:• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (Advanced) • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities (Advanced) • Beginner-level laboratory, maintenance, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills Preferred Qualifications:• 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in laboratory or technical environments • Hands-on laboratory experience with automated and manual equipment • Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting aptitude • Pursuing or holding a science or technical degree • Familiarity with industrial or academic data recording and reporting Education Requirements:• High School Diploma/GED required • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred • Trade school certification a plusEducation verification is required for this position.
