Performs specialized work coordinating with public/private sector entities and community-based organizations. Implements and monitors projects that will increase awareness about the concerns and opportunities for people with disabilities. Conducts accessibility site visits; investigates complaints of discrimination alleging violation of the County's Equal Employment, Housing and Places of Public Accommodation Ordinances on the basis of disability.QUALIFICATIONSThis position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of college-level coursework with significant coursework in the Social Services, Public/Business Administration, or closely related field; minimum of one (1) year of experience in social services, disability/accessibility, and/or accommodations for the disabled, OR• Graduation from high school/equivalent; minimum of three (3) years of related experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred qualifications include:• Experience responding to complaints of discrimination on the basis of disability,• Experience delivering presentations/public speaking,• Experience conducting legal research,• Experience writing reports for achieving accessible facilities/services,• Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/other government ordinances on accessibility (must specify on application).
