The area supports a suburban-to-urban lifestyle with access to outdoor activities at Alexandria State Park and boating on nearby Lake D'Arbonne, both within roughly 30-60 minutes, and regional airports provide connectivity for travel and commuting.Role Summary and Responsibilities:Prepare and dispense medications per physician orders and institutional policies.Interpret and verify medication orders, maintain accurate patient medication records.Compound sterile and non-sterile products, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition, as assigned.Manage controlled substance dispensing and maintain required records.Provide clinical pharmacy services including medication therapy monitoring, drug information, pharmacokinetic consults, and renal dosing adjustments.Participate in antimicrobial stewardship, opioid stewardship, medication use review, and quality improvement activities.Attend interdisciplinary rounds when assigned and provide patient and caregiver medication education per protocol.Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify daily pharmacy support activities.Occupational Hazards and Working Conditions:Potential exposure to hazardous and toxic substances, including chemotherapeutic agents and cleaning solutions.Potential for needlestick or sharp instrument injuries and exposure to biologic material when involved in direct patient care.Physical demands may include lifting and transporting supplies; safe lifting practices are required.Additional Notes:Pharmacy state licensure and required certifications must be maintained and provided per facility policy.Temp-to-perm opportunity may be possible.
