Job DescriptionRole OverviewWe are seeking a highly detail-oriented Technician to support the research laboratory operations. This role is critical in ensuring laboratory readiness by supporting labware processing, media preparation, and maintaining efficient workflows. The Technician will operate in a regulated environment, adhering to strict safety, quality, and compliance standards (GMP/GLP where applicable).Key ResponsibilitiesLab Operations & EquipmentPerform glassware washing, drying, and sterilization using autoclaves, ovens, and other lab equipmentInspect, sort, and prepare labware for reuse ensuring cleanliness and sterility standards are metOperate and maintain autoclaves, washers, and sterilization equipment; escalate malfunctions as neededPerform routine cleaning and organization of laboratory workspacesMedia Preparation & ReagentsPrepare microbiological and cell culture media following standard operating procedures (SOPs)Accurately prepare buffers, reagents, and stock solutionsLabel, aliquot, and store materials according to defined protocols and storage conditionsMonitor reagent inventory and expiration dates to ensure uninterrupted lab operationsCompliance & DocumentationFollow all safety, GMP, and GLP guidelines where applicableComplete batch records, logs, and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards (ALCOA principles)Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment usage, and inventory trackingSupport audits and inspections by ensuring documentation is complete and compliantInventory & LogisticsMaintain lab supply inventory levels and coordinate restocking activitiesReceive, unpack, and organize incoming materials and lab suppliesEnsure proper storage conditions (temperature-controlled, hazardous materials handling, etc.)Support waste disposal processes including biohazard and chemical waste in accordance with safety guidelinesTechnical Support & Continuous ImprovementAssist in training new or junior technicians on lab processes and safety proceduresTroubleshoot routine equipment or process issues and escalate when neededIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline workflowsSupport updates to SOPs and internal documentationCollaborationWork closely with scientists, lab managers, and cross-functional teams to support research activitiesCommunicate effectively regarding task prioritization, delays, or issues impacting lab operationsSupport multiple lab groups in a fast-paced environment with shifting prioritiesRequirementsEducation: High school diploma or GED required; college-level coursework in biology, chemistry, or related field required (AA/AS preferred)Experience: 1+ year of laboratory experience in academic, biotech, or regulated environment preferredTechnical Skills:Experience with autoclaves, sterilization, and lab equipmentKnowledge of aseptic technique and contamination controlFamiliarity with media preparation and buffer/reagent preparationBasic computer skills (data entry, inventory systems, or lab tracking tools)Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 40 lbsAbility to stand, bend, and move for extended periodsLogistics: Valid drivers licenseOnsite positionThe max pay rate is 21/hr for this positon Equal Opportunity Employer: We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
