Job Description

Pay Rate: $60 to $65 per hour Summary: Shift Hours: Sunday: 9:00-5 pm, Monday: 8:30-8:30 pm, Tuesday: 8:30-8:30 pm, Wednesday: 8:30-2:00 pm Responsibilities: Operate or oversee the operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Prepare patients for radiological procedures and ensure compliance with safety measures and regulations. Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and other relevant individuals. Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions. Position patients, adjust immobilization devices, and move equipment to specified positions for procedures. Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques and using beam restrictive devices and patient shielding. Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures and processing radiographs. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, including the completion and verification of exams. Ensure operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment inventories. Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock and anticipating needed supplies. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by meeting regulatory CME requirements, attending educational workshops, and participating in professional societies. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Complete yearly Age Specific Competency. Requirements: 2 years of experience required. N.Y. State Dept. of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist. Preferred Skills: Competency in performing diagnostic procedures. Excellent communication skills in a team environment. Quality focus, planning, people skills, dependability, and ability to create a safe, effective environment.
