Hope Clinic is seeking a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) to join our busy and growing team! The BHC is primarily responsible for conducting patient mental health and substance abuse screenings and behavioral health/clinical interventions. Position also provides back-up to the Patient Advocates as needed to assist current and potential patients with health insurance enrollment, access to onsite food, dental, and medical services, and other on and offsite human services support. This is position is considered full-time, anticipated to work approximately 32-35 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, with some Wednesday late afternoon hours required. Position offers benefits and paid time off (see full posting for details).Required Education and Experience: Licensed or Limited License MSW or equivalentAt least one year of experience providing behavioral health services to clientsExperience providing brief mental health and substance abuse trainings and behavioral health interventionsExperience working with diverse client populations and occasionally challenging client situationsRequired Competencies: Ability to consistently demonstrate Hope Clinic's core valuesAbility to work independently and as part of the Behavioral Health teamStrong interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage clientsStrong client record management skills and organizationProficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Outlook emailUnderstanding of and respect for Hope Clinic mission, vision, and values to serve all in Jesus' nameEssential Functions: Work independently and as part of an outreach team in the Behavioral Health departmentDevelop professional, respectful, and trusting relationships with clientsProvide client contact and support as appropriate, engaging clients and answering questions, in person and/or by telephone. Support behavioral health team special events or special Hope Clinic initiativesCommunicate with staff and promote services through a variety of media resourcesPrimary Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct screening assessments for specialty mental health or substance abuse care needs and make appropriate referrals for servicesProvide brief behavioral health interventions and appropriate external community referrals for Hope Clinic clients and patientsAssist the Behavioral Health Manager in training and overseeing professional volunteers and interns who conduct mental health and substance abuse screenings and brief interventionsMaintain accurate, organized, and confidential client recordsAssist in developing common service delivery and reporting tools that support integration and whole person carePerform client needs assessments to determine the level of assistance Hope can provide, and make referrals to other agencies as appropriateUse Windows-based computing systems and establish online and paper-based systems to enroll patients in needed services and maintain patient recordsHope Clinic is proud to offer a strong benefits package designed to truly care for our team.
