Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Related Services at iBRAIN, with wide latitude for independent judgment and decision-making, the Deputy Director of Related Services will oversee the current related services within the school-based program in New York City metro area as well as assist in developing the Article 28 out-patient clinic, iBRAIN center(s) and research efforts. iBRAIN is one of the largest school-based programs in the United States focused on students with severe brain injuries and brain-based disorders. Desirable attributes include clinical experience with acquired brain injury, management of interdisciplinary teams, a strong foundation of research skills, keen strategic focus. The successful individual is a natural leader who fosters an environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement, effective, transparent communication with key constituents and stakeholders, and accountability for results. The Deputy Director of Related Services coordinates all related service departments that treat children with brain injury and brain-based disorders. In addition, the right candidate will develop and advance the departmental university affiliation internships, clinical continuing education, and student service research in a school-based model, as aligned with the International Association of Accreditation Education and Training and the internal review board. Please send a resume and cover letter to Jobs@ Responsibilities * Works as part of Management Team to fulfill the organization's mission. * Formulate strategies and plans for the organization. * Ensure adherence to organizational standards of service, policies, and procedures. * Recruiting, hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff. * Supervise and collaborate with employees. * Manage all administrative related service operations and programs. * Evaluate performance and employee discipline. * Monitor compliance with legal guidelines. * Ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards. * Manage departmental oversight of each related service department director, lead and/or manager in a school-based role * Supervises and assists with management of scheduling and assigning student and staff coverages for caseload needs including staff absences and student scheduling modifications required. * Supports adjunct programs. * Monitors documentation of students' progress by charting and auditing department records, ensuring make-up sessions are rendered. * Compliance monitoring of completion of appropriate staff requests and documentation including push-in requests, weekly parent reports, surveys, and Grand Rounds presentations. * Organizes and curates departmental training and in-services. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Supervises staff therapists and clinical student affiliations for internships. * Supervises management and distribution of therapeutic equipment to ensure safe and appropriate use of adaptive equipment based on therapy needs. * Maintains confidentiality for school records. * Maintains safe, clean, and healthy working environment for students and staff by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. * Monitors department-led, monthly equipment and brace clinics with representation at clinic and support of equipment clinic coordinator for bimonthly clinic; aid with all associated equipment and bracing needs * Assumes such other clinical, research and supervisory duties as may be assigned as needed. Qualifications * Master's Degree required and Doctorate-level education preferred (i.e., PhD, PsyD, EdD, DPT, OTD, SLPD, MD). * Minimum 10 years of clinical management experience. * Previous clinical and supervisory experience with brain injury population preferred. * Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff. * Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation. * Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Strong public speaking ability. * Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy. * Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. * Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. * Transparent and high integrity leadership. * High level strategic thinking and planning. * Ability to envision and convey the organization's strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, and donors. * Ability to effectively communicate the organization's mission to donors, volunteers, and the overall community. * MUST HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR Benefits * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Vision insurance * Paid time off * Transportation Management Account
