This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) 12-month non-tenure clinical track faculty appointment at the Assistant Clinical Professor, Associate Clinical Professor, or Clinical Professor rank with an administrative appointment as a Group Practice Leader.Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Interviews of qualified candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The start date for the position is June 1, 2026.Located on UNE's Portland Campus for the Health Sciences, UNE CDM is the only dental school in a region where access to quality oral healthcare is a persistent challenge, especially in rural areas. Each group practice in the comprehensive patient care clinic is managed by a Group Practice Leader (GPL). Core responsibilities of the GPL include:Provide leadership and direction for the predoctoral group practice clinicsServe as a role model and leader in the CDM communityEnsure the safe and effective delivery of evidence-based patient careSupervise, educate, and mentor studentsContinually monitor student professionalism, patient management, core experiences, completion of clinical skills assessments, and readiness for externship rotationsWork with Patient Care Coordinators to ensure timeliness of care for patients within the group practiceAssign patients to predoctoral students to ensure a well-rounded experience within the Oral Health CenterGuide students in the development of evidence-based treatment plansOversee student progress and progression toward on-time graduationCollaborate with the Department Chair on continuous quality improvement in the Oral Health CenterMonitor patient care outcomes within the group practiceCo-direct Patient Care courses for second-, third- and fourth-year studentsContribute to calibration of faculty teaching in the predoctoral group practicesAssist with the coordination of licensure examination effortsParticipate in service to the college and universityLead small group seminars for third- and fourth-year studentsConduct summative and formative student assessmentProvide evidence-based didactic and clinical educationProvide advanced inter- and intra-professional curriculum initiativesSupport and advance the mission of the CollegeParticipate in College activities and eventsPromote and foster an environment of community and belongingOther duties as assignedQualifications Qualified candidates must possess a D.D.S./D.M.D. degree, or international equivalent and have successfully completed the NBDE Parts I & II or the INBDE and a regional licensure examination (e.g. ADEX).
