POSITION: School Psychologist EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: 195 days beginning 2026-2027 school year SALARY: As Set by the Board of School Trustees - not part of the bargaining unit. The school psychologist provides specialized psychological and related services to support students with disabilities and those suspected of having disabilities. The role ensures compliance with Special Education's Article 7, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and ensures a Free and Appropriate Education (FAPE) focusing on evaluation, eligibility determination, consultation, intervention planning, and procedural compliance. Qualifications * Must hold a valid Indiana School Psychologist Licensed issued by the Indiana Department of Education * Master's or Education Specialist degree in School Psychology * Public School Experience Preferred Evaluation & Assessment * Conducts comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, and behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental functioning as part of the multidisciplinary team. * Administer, score, and interpret formal and informal assessments according to professional standards. * Integrate data from multiple sources (testing, observation, interviews) to accurately describe student needs and strengths. * Ensure all evaluations meet Article 7 timelines and procedural requirements. Eligibility & Case Conference Participation * Serve as an active member of the Case Conference Committee (CCC) to review evaluation results and determine eligibility for special education services under Article 7. * Present assessment information clearly to school teams and families, helping inform eligibility decisions and service planning. * Assist in the development or revision of the Individualized Education Plan by contributing psychological insights and recommendations. Consultation and Collaboration * Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and service providers to plan academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports. * Collaborate with school staff in evaluating response to intervention (RTI)/Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes and data-based decision-making. * Assist teams in interpreting psychological data, its implications for instruction, and programming. * Consult with the High Ability Director on assessment and data. Psychological Service * Consulting and collaboration with school personnel and families. * Assisting in developing positive behavioral interventions and supports. Compliance & Procedural Support * Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws, including Article 7 and IDEA procedural safeguards. * Stay current on legal updates in special education practices and advisories related to Article 7. Professional Development and Support * Provide training or professional development to staff and families on topics such as behavioral interventions, assessment interpretation, and compliance requirements. * Support faculty understanding of psychological assessment results and educational implications.
