POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the administration, management, and coordination of drug court services and operations, including overseeing drug court staff activities, ensuring the court's compliance with the drug court statutes and rules, developing drug court policies and procedures, managing service provider contracts and team member memoranda of understanding, managing program grants, facilitating team meetings, and serving as a liaison to local service providers and community groups. This position is also responsible for delivering appropriate mental health assessments, treatment planning and interventions for clients who are impacted by serious emotional/behavioral impairment which has resulted in a DSM-V diagnosis and are targeted for mental health services by the Division of Mental Health. This position will provide a clinically relevant and therapeutic environment for clients; including but not limited to nurturing a cohesive and supportive team environment focused on meeting client needs. A person in this position must communicate readily with all treatment team members, including internal and external entities. This position operates under minimal supervision but must be willing to solicit professional assistance in area of responsibility from outside sources as necessary. A person in this position must exercise tact, judgment and confidentiality in contact with the public, clients and families, as well as fellow associates of the Center. Work is very broad in scope requiring the application of complex and technical practices and procedure and a high level of professionalism. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following. Other assignments, projects, and duties may be required * Determining annually that all agencies providing treatment services to drug court participants are certified by the Division of Mental Health and Addiction or an equivalent agency. * Having a written referral agreement with all addiction treatment service providers to which the drug court refers drug court participants that contains procedures for the initiation and acceptance of referrals, exchange of participant information, post-referral reporting that enables the drug court to monitor participant success, and attendance at drug court staffings and meetings. * Organize, facilitate and maintain records and treatment for Drug Court Clients * Facilitate SUD groups as needed and assigned. * Research, understand and implement best practices as it relates to Drug Court Treatment * Demonstrate an understanding of the basic concepts of mental illness and the basic techniques of clinical work including functional skills, socialization skills training, communication skills training, treatment coordination, and crisis intervention/behavior management techniques. * Coordinate with treatment team members to develop a treatment plan, which accurately reflects the client's needs with goals and objectives that are time limited and behaviorally stated. * Serve as the primary author of treatment plans for assigned area. * Document timely, accurately and in accordance with Center policies utilizing current systems and practices. * Document accurate information, which reflects client progress based on the appropriate therapeutic modality. Therapeutic services will be time limited and specific to the presenting problem(s) of each assigned consumer. * Communicate objectives with the primary and/or secondary case manager for the client in a timely manner. * Communicate and compile information from all providers to case managers. * Meet with assigned clients and/or their families as frequently as outlined on the treatment plan. * Maintain weekly contact with the Drug Court treatment team and provide required progress reports, if applicable. * Be available for treatment team meetings with other involved departments or agencies as needed by the client. * Assist client with the development of natural support systems to improve independence as much as is possible. * Attend and participate in weekly court hearings. * Complete intakes for the Drug Court clients at the jail, office, or at the probation office as requested. * Complete weekly reports on each client to be provided to the Drug Court treatment team. * Attend continuing education seminars pertaining to mental health care, evidenced based practices, or other continuing education seminars pertinent to the needs of clients, as deemed necessary by senior management, pending approval by following staff development application process. * Abide by all Center policies and procedures. * Maintain positive working relations and rapport with the communities served. * Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
