Hiring Locations:La Verne, CA (Retail Pharmacy)Job Summary: This position is an entry-level position, and its duties are designed to develop knowledge and competency levels while performing pharmacist functions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Functions performed as an intern include but are not limited to dispensing drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners, educating patients about medications and their use, and learning how to advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications. In addition, the Intern will participate in educational experiences.This is a three to four-year program. The Intern will increase in level based on the educational program enrolled in and performance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Monitors patients' drug therapies, advises on the safe use of medications, and informs of potential side effects.Completes MTMs.Dispenses medications as prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.Verifies order entries, maintains records of controlled substances, changes and removes expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy's inventory. Completes all clinical services provided by the pharmacy, as directed (vaccinations, blood pressure/temperature measurements, diabetes management, etc.). Maintains records of patient history.Ensures compliance with all relevant legal procedures, regulations, and rules that regulate the pharmaceutical practice.Provides consultations to patients regarding medications and their use.Responds to or assists PIC with audits and inspections from various regulatory agencies, as directed.Qualifications:Currently in school for a bachelor's in pharmacy or PharmD requiredIntern must be part of an accredited internship programValid State Intern Pharmacist LicenseMust possess immunization certificate and BLSFor questions regarding this position, please contact us at (626) 399-0278.
