Professional - Clinical Req #: 71955 We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented technician to support our very busy Mohs surgical team in delivering exceptional patient care. This is a unique, highly hands-on role in a fast‑paced surgical environment. The ideal candidate will assist before, during, and after procedures, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and help ensure a safe, efficient, and patient‑centered clinical setting. Key Responsibilities * Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including room setup, equipment preparation, and patient positioning * Assist surgeons and clinical staff during minor and outpatient Mohs surgical procedures * Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure proper handling of surgical instruments * Provide pre‑operative and post‑operative patient care, including wound care and patient education * Obtain, record, and document vital signs and medical histories * Prepare, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies * Ensure exam rooms and procedure areas are clean, stocked, and compliant with infection‑control standards * Accurately and timely document clinical information in the electronic health record (EHR) Why You'll Love This Role * Hands‑on, specialized work supporting a busy Mohs surgical team * Work at the top of your scope in a fast‑paced, procedural setting * Collaborative team environment where your skills directly impact patient care Summary: The Dermatology Mohs Technician role is responsible for processing, embedding, cutting and staining high quality frozen tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation and review by the physician/advanced practice practitioner. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) * Education: 60 semester hours including 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses (6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of biology, and 12 hours in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology, or any combination preferred. Proof of training in a certified program in Mohs tissue processing and/or significant work history as a Mohs Laboratory Technician required. Graduation from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting preferred (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). * License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within one month of start date. * Experience: One year of experience as the primary Mohs Laboratory Technician required. Two years of Medical Assistant or Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
