This is a part time hybrid position working 20 hours a week. Position OverviewThe Imaging Specialist III supports key aspects of the imaging workflow within MMI's core lab operations. This includes development and delivery of imaging-related site training materials, QA of incoming imaging, resolution of technical discrepancies with site staff, pre-reads and pre-analyses of imaging (where applicable). The Imaging Specialist III provides technical support and applies his/her clinical knowledge of medical imaging to ensure the scientific integrity, quality, and efficiency of departmental processes and procedures as well as overall conduct of trial-related tasks at MMI. This role will interact with other MMI departments, as needed, for successful design, management and execution of imaging services for clinical trials and other medical imaging needs of MMI's clients and partners. Items marked with (**) signify additional responsibilities and experience beyond the Imaging Specialist II role.Duties and Responsibilities Image Quality & Review Inspect medical images across projects, encompassing many combinations of anatomy and imaging modality (including but not limited to X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Angiography) **Identify deviations in incoming medical images from prescribed image acquisition protocolsIdentify and document image quality issues in received imaging such as poor contrast, noise, incorrect patient positioning, insufficient coverage, and image artifacts, and recommend corrective actionsConduct image analysis as needed and assist with implementing efficient workflows across image-handling functions** Technical & Scientific Support Assist Operations staff with scientific and technical consulting activitiesTrain and assist other Imaging SpecialistsProvide internal subject matter expertise related to image quality and acquisition methodology Author and update Image Quality Assurance (QA) documents such as Image Quality Evaluation (IQE) checklists, and work instructions Develop site-, sponsor-, and consultant-facing project materials (e.g., site training, guidance for site coordinators, and imaging technologists)Reinforce site- and customer-relationships through responsiveness, creative thinking, active communication, and high-quality technical support General Understand the Medical Metrics Quality Policy and support the achievement of the organization's quality objectives; take corrective action when necessary to mitigate organizational riskSupport internal initiatives aimed at quality improvement; suggest and implement relevant process improvementsComply with company policies and procedures, ISO 9001, and Current Good Clinical Practices (cGCPs) relative to job tasksPerform any other duties, as directed by supervisorEnsure compliance with HR policies and proceduresRequirementsSkills RequiredProficient in acquiring Ultrasound and/or Angio medical images in addition to other modalities such as X-ray, CT and MRIExperience working with DICOM imagesKeen attention to detail in evaluating diagnostic images for technical adequacy and clinical acceptabilityExceptional attention to detail and follow-throughStrong analytic, quantitative, and computer skillsAbility to manage multiple ongoing projects and time-sensitive tasks under tight timelinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEffective technical presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to produce high-quality technical documentationAbility to compile, synthesize, and interpret relevant scientific literatureAbility to rapidly acquire and apply new technical and scientific knowledgeEffective interpersonal and client service skillsHighly self-motivated and committed to exceeding planned objectivesComputer literate with ability to learn and operate software Ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of timeAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentEducation and ExperienceRequiredARRT registered radiographer with credentials/certification in one or more modalities; or a Bachelor's degree in radiologic science, imaging, allied health, or a related discipline with hands-on imaging experience in a clinical settingMinimum of 2 years experience in a technical/clinical roleDemonstrated technical competence in medical image acquisition, modality console operation, patient/subject positioning, and preparation of images for delivery to end-usersOperational proficiency with basic office software tools (e.g., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Demonstrated competency within the Imaging Specialist II role **Preferred / PlusesPrior work experience or research in medical devices or biopharmaceuticals, with an emphasis on spine, orthopedics, cardiology, and/or neurology3-5 years' experience in a technical/clinical roleUnderstanding of clinical trials, including US-FDA 510(k) / PMA regulatory pathwayKnowledge of routine assessments made from orthopedic and/or cardiovascular imaging examsHistory of working with clinicians (e.g., radiologists, cardiologists, surgeons, neurologists) on R&D projects involving advanced image analysis and interpretationSalary Description Starting at $34.00 an hour
