Job Description

A Pharmacist Manager opportunity is available at an inpatient hospital pharmacy in Glenwood Springs, CO. This contract role will begin immediately and last approximately 13 weeks. The position requires the candidate's permanent address to be at least 75 miles from the facility. This leadership role is critical to ensuring the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medication therapies within the hospital. The Pharmacist Manager will develop and enforce pharmacy policies, maintain a medical staff-approved formulary, supervise medication storage and preparation areas, and ensure strict control of controlled substances. The pharmacist also manages pharmacy staffing, provides education to pharmacy personnel, and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and hospital policies. Key Responsibilities: Supervise pharmacy personnel, develop job descriptions, evaluate performance, and manage scheduling. Maintain and control medication inventory integrity and supply adequacy. Lead the integration of pharmacy services with overall hospital functions, contributing to strategic planning and quality improvement programs. Participate in hospital committees and management meetings. Assume Staff Pharmacist duties as needed. Required Qualifications and Experience: PharmD degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy. Current Colorado pharmacy license in good standing. Demonstrated leadership in pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy services. Strong regulatory knowledge, clinical judgment, communication, and teaching skills. BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association. Flu vaccine required (no exemptions accepted) for the October 1 - April 1 period. Must have EPIC electronic medical record experience; Meditech experience a plus as the facility transitions EMR systems. Schedule: Day shift, 40 hours per week.
