The CTI Paraprofessional supports the Career & Technical Instruction (CTI) program by assisting students with disabilities in developing academic, employability, career, and independent living skills. This position works closely with the CTI Coordinator to support students receiving special education services as they prepare for successful transitions to postsecondary education, training, and employment.The CTI Paraprofessional assists with classroom instruction, work-based learning experiences, job coaching, leadership development, and student support to help students meet Individualized Education Program (IEP) transition goals.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStudent Instruction & SupportAssist students with disabilities in developing employability and career readiness skillsProvide one-on-one and small group instructional supportReinforce instruction provided by the CTI Coordinator and CCA instructorsSupport students in meeting IEP transition goalsAssist students with organization, time management, and task completionHelp students develop self-advocacy and independent living skillsMove in and out of CTAE classrooms to support students across multiple programsMonitor and document student progressMaintain discretion and confidentiality regarding student informationClassroom & Program SupportAssist with preparation of instructional materials and activitiesSupport career exploration and transition activitiesAssist with field trips, job shadowing, and career eventsAssist with preparation for region and state leadership conferencesSupport classroom management and positive behavior strategiesHelp maintain a safe and inclusive learning environmentDemonstrate flexibility and respond to changing student and program needsSafety & Lab SupportAssist students in CTAE labs and hands-on learning environmentsWear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required in labs, including closed-toe shoes, welding helmets, gloves, eye protection, and other safety equipment as neededSupport adherence to safety procedures and expectationsAdministrative & Documentation SupportAssist with maintaining student documentation and recordsSupport data collection for program reporting and complianceMaintain confidentiality of student informationKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to build positive relationships with studentsStrong organizational skillsAbility to adapt to individual student needsAbility to maintain discretion and professionalismBasic technology and data entry skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyPhysical RequirementsFrequent standing and walkingAbility to move between classrooms and community-based learning sitesAbility to assist students in various environmentsAbility to lift up to 25 pounds if necessaryAbility to participate in two overnight field trips annuallyAbility to work in hands-on learning environments and labs
