DescriptionThe Dentist is responsible for performing oral surgery and providing routine restorative care for patients, including repair and removal of teeth, diagnosing conditions and communicating with patients about how to best care for their oral health.RequirementsGraduate of accredited dentistry program and must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice dentistry in Virginia. Must adhere to guidelines of given primary care specialty for meeting re-certification requirements. Must meet annual primary care specialty continuing education medical education requirements (or those set forth by the ADA) and report to Human Resources. Must maintain DEA certification with reimbursement for these through ESRHS CME allowances. Provider must maintain updated copies of all of their licensures, certification and CME.Planning, organizing and implementing dental programs and activities, supervising and assisting in training of dental staff, ability to work well in a leadership role with a cooperative effort with diverse groups of health professionals; ability to work independently and to make appropriate decisions which reflect professional strength, confidence and integrity. Dentist must have basic computer competencies in order to effectively use electronic health and digital radiography systems.Must maintain current CPR for all life cycles.Must demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills.Employee must demonstrate an understanding of the intent, and follow standards, guidelines and protocols related to achieving and maintaining certifications by outside agencies.Must demonstrate personal and professional commitment to the mission of Eastern Shore Rural Health System, Inc. as expressed in the Mission Statement.
