A specialized pharmacist role is available overseeing overnight shifts at a prominent women's health facility in Houston, TX. This 14-week contract position starts March 2 and requires working 7 consecutive nights on, followed by 7 nights off, from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The role utilizes the EPIC electronic medical records system and focuses on delivering expert pharmaceutical care tailored for patients ranging from newborns to adults. Key Responsibilities: Manage the entire medication process to promote patient safety and effective treatment. Assess and ensure medication doses are appropriate considering diagnosis, patient weight, allergies, and potential drug interactions. Accurately enter medication orders within the computer system to prevent errors. Verify that medications dispensed match physician orders and are delivered promptly within organizational guidelines. Uphold strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards during sterile product preparation. Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and fellow pharmacists to maintain compliance with best practices and complete annual recertifications with high proficiency. Desired Experience and Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, with a preference for pediatric expertise. Active Texas pharmacist license. ACPE IV Certification required. Familiarity and competence with EPIC EMR is advantageous.
