How would you contribute? This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - National Polymers team, located in Lakeville, MN. As a Machine Operator you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The Machine Operator will be responsible for the set-up and start-up of machinery and equipment. In addition, this role will ensure machines are running efficiently to produce quality products. The Machine Operator will also perform troubleshooting to ensure an uninterrupted flow of products.Essential Duties: Adjust, and operate machines, following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs. Utilize problem solving skills to minimize downtime.Read and interpret diagrams and other work instructions.Perform quality inspections and document product quality to assure product is within specifications. Communicate with Quality and/or Production Leadership Teams regarding questionable products and make timely adjustments.Monitor cycle times to the required standards.Work with team members and Production teams to improve production processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.Maintain accurate records of production output, quality checks, and machine settings. Complete daily production and quality logs.Adhere to safety policies and regulations to ensure a safe work environment. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.Adhere to company policy and attendance standards.Report food safety concerns to management.Other duties as assigned.Do you have what it takes? Successful candidates for the role will possess the following: Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Abilities Required:Understanding of plastic materials, machine operations, and troubleshooting. Education / Experience / Certifications:Previous experience working with and operating manufacturing equipment preferred.Physical Demands and Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seasonally and moderately exposed to humid conditions and heat. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, the risk of electrical shock and exposure to extreme molten plastic temperature. The employee is frequently exposed to height of 8-10 feet and vibration.
