SNF Hires - Director of Nursing (DON) Smoky Mountain RehabPigeon Forge, TNFull-Time | On-Site | Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care Smoky Mountain Rehab, a respected skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations and strengthen quality outcomes. This role is ideal for a strong, hands-on nursing leader with proven skilled nursing or long-term care experience who is passionate about resident-centered care and regulatory excellence. Position Summary The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and management of all nursing services at Smoky Mountain Rehab. The DON ensures clinical excellence, compliance with all regulatory standards, and the development of a positive, accountable nursing culture focused on delivering exceptional resident care. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all nursing services, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (CMS, TDH, OSHA) Maintain continuous survey readiness and lead corrective action plans when necessary Develop, implement, and enforce nursing policies and procedures Collaborate closely with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and labor efficiency to ensure quality care delivery Recruit, train, mentor, and retain nursing leadership and frontline staff Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care Review incidents, audits, quality measures, and clinical outcomes to drive improvement Participate in budgeting, cost management, and performance initiatives related to nursing services Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee (required) Minimum 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing strongly preferred Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, surveys, and quality measures Proven leadership, communication, and staff development skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred Schedule Full-time, on-site Primarily day shift with flexibility to meet clinical and operational needs Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer contribution Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays Life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage Professional development and leadership support Stable ownership with a collaborative executive leadership team Why Join Smoky Mountain Rehab?
