Description / Position Overview SEASONAL - GOCO Inspire Pathway (PT Guide or Interpreter) About the Job: North Cheyenne Cañon Park seeks a candidate for the GOCO Inspire Pathway grant. In this position, you will work near a variety of water features at the Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center, the Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center, and the Prospect Lake Beach House while offering outdoor education programs in North Cheyenne Cañon Park and Memorial Park. You will learn from the experienced staff to develop the best practices and skills you will need to work in an educational outdoor setting. Job Type: Seasonal Work Schedule: May 17th through August 23: 24 hours a week with possible extension into September and October at 12 hours a week. Work Location: Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center, 3440 N Cheyenne Canyon Rd, CS, CO 80906 with possibility of one day a week at Prospect Lake Beach House, 619 Prospect Lake Dr, Southeast CS, CO 80910 This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year, and any furloughs subsequently approved. This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association). Approximate dates of employment will be May 2026 through August 2026, possibly into September and October 2026 with reduced hours. Scheduled hours will vary based on department needs. Total hours worked will not exceed 1,500 annually. As a GOCO Inspire Pathway (PT Guide or Interpreter), you will: * Interact with numerous visitors from around the world with wayfinding and visitor support * Provide information, wayfinding, and maps for North Cheyenne Cañon Park and surrounding attractions * Work with team members to operate and maintain Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center, Prospect Lake Beach House, and/or Starsmore Visitor Center * Provide accurate outdoor educational programming in a park with a landscape that rivals national parks in visitation and beauty * Perform trail safety patrols and guided hikes around Helen Hunt Falls and Prospect Lake * Inform visitors of park rules and safety regulations * Respond to incidents involving injuries; communicate with emergency staff * Open and close the visitor center; clean restrooms, and perform site maintenance * Assist adult and teen volunteers * Other duties as assigned We are looking for candidates who will demonstrate: * Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills * Ability to communicate clearly and concisely * A desire to learn and be curious about nature, including wildlife, geology, trees, wildflowers, and ecosystems * A desire to gain knowledge of the local environment and the natural and cultural history of the Pikes Peak Region * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Minimum Qualifications * Have a high school diploma or GED * As defined by the grant, be a resident of, or have extensive knowledge of, the Hillside/Prospect Lake neighborhood Additional Information
