Salary:$130,000-160,000 per year + benefitsJob SummaryWe are seeking a scrappy, tech-savvy Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead pharmacy compliance, regulatory oversight, and operations for a fast-growing, AI-forward pharmaceutical distribution startup. This role ensures full adherence to federal, state, and international regulations while implementing technology, processes, and scalable solutions to support rapid domestic and global growth.The ideal PIC is comfortable innovating, integrating technology, and building systems from the ground up, while overseeing controlled substances, specialty pharmaceuticals, and distribution processes in a highly dynamic environment.Job Responsibilities Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for all pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance. Maintain DEA registration, state pharmacy licenses, and regulatory filings. Oversee controlled substance inventory, ordering, storage, and recordkeeping. Ensure compliance with DEA, FDA, DSCSA, and state pharmacy regulations. Support operational processes for specialty drugs, biologics, and cold chain products. Provide regulatory guidance for domestic and international pharmaceutical shipments. Develop and maintain SOPs and train staff on compliance. Collaborate with executive leadership to scale the distribution platform efficiently. Assist in evaluating suppliers, product sourcing, and licensing expansion. Lead ERP system compliance integration and digital workflow improvements. Identify opportunities to leverage AI and other technologies to optimize pharmacy operations.Qualifications PharmD or RPh degree from an accredited pharmacy school. Active North Carolina Pharmacist License. Eligible to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge. 5+ years of pharmacy experience, including controlled substances and regulatory compliance. Experience with specialty pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical distribution, or wholesale operations preferred. Knowledge of DEA, FDA, DSCSA, and state pharmacy regulations preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and business-minded problem-solving skills. Comfortable implementing technology, AI tools, and scalable operational processes.
