Job Description: Mount Saint Mary's University, Los Angeles, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Director/Assistant Professor, Physician Associate Program for the Doheny Campus in Downtown Los Angeles. Mount Saint Mary's University seeks a passionate, experienced educator for this full-time, twelve-month, faculty position as the inaugural Program Director for the Physician Associate program. This is an exciting, once-in-a-career opportunity to build a physician associate program from the ground up! MSMU is in the process of applying for accreditation with ARC-PA and the founding Director will lead this effort, building upon MSMU's existing programs and historic leadership in the Health Sciences. The position is a non-tenure track position during program development but will be converted to a tenure-track line upon commencement of the program.Responsibilities:Initial responsibilities will include: Completion of self-study documents to ensure a successful provisional accreditationReviewing and modifying the existing curriculum as appropriate to meet the accreditation standardsCollaborating with the medical director to identify and develop agreements with clinical education sitesDeveloping the program handbookOngoing responsibilities will include:Maintaining compliance with ARC-PA accreditation standards centered on the self-study report processProviding student academic advising and evaluationParticipating in program/university assessmentCompleting professional development activities and service to the University and communityOverseeing the recruitment and hiring of qualified full and part-time faculty to support the programLeading the program's faculty and staff in the ongoing review of the curriculum, program goals and outcomes, and program self-study and evaluationOverseeing the development and application of admissions policies and processes relating to the programRepresenting the Physician Associate program at internal university meetings as assignedTeaching courses in the program; supervising the program's medical director and faculty and staff in activities that relate to the Physician Associate programFacilitating professional development opportunities for faculty and staffManaging the department/program budget; maintain clinical expertise as required per licensingParticipating in scholarly activityPerforming other program duties as assigned?Position Annual Hiring Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000.
