This is a Full-Time Days position. A surgical technologist in this role will work as part of the surgical services and operating room teams in the Main OR. The individual will assist the surgical team during surgeries, ensure a sterile environment, hand instruments to surgeons during procedures, and maintain patient safety. Between surgeries, the individual will clean and restock the operating room. Throughout the day, precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are paramount in providing quality patient care.As a Surgical Technologist for the Main OR, your responsibilities and qualifications will include:Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative proceduresAnticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordinglyProper disposition of specimens and instrumentsWorks with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safetyCall is required for this position.Graduation from an Accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES ProgramOR - Previous experience working in an Operating Room (OR) settingCertification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program preferred NBSTA or NCCT, but not requiredExperience Requirements:1-2 years Surgical Services ExperienceEducation & Credential Requirements: Associate's Degree or Vocational RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) RequiredTech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) NCCT Required OrCertified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required OrThis Surgical Technologist, Main OR position will be located at Baptist Medical Center Clay.
