Position overview: The Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences within the Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine (SSVM) at Rowan University invites applications for a full-time academic-track faculty position in Veterinary Gross Anatomy. We seek an energetic, student-centered anatomist to join an interdisciplinary team teaching an integrated, organ-system-based DVM curriculum. This is an excellent opportunity to shape a new veterinary program, develop innovative teaching resources, mentor students and staff, and pursue collaborative scholarship across the School and University. Key responsibilities: The successful candidate will: * Deliver clear, engaging lectures and lead cadaver-based dissections that foster active learning and clinical relevance. * Design and produce high-quality instructional materials (prosections, plastinations, digital 3D assets, lab manuals, recorded content). * Prepare, update, and align course content and assessments with curricular goals and accreditation standards. * Assess student learning through written exams, OSCEs/practicals, and formative feedback. * Oversee maintenance of gross anatomy laboratories, specimen collections, and associated equipment; ensure safe handling, storage, and compliance with institutional policies. * Coordinate with anatomy technicians and provide mentorship/training for teaching assistants and staff. * Participate in curricular development, program assessment, and faculty governance. * Engage in scholarly activity (basic, translational, clinical, or pedagogical research) and seek internal/external collaborations and funding. * Fulfill any additional duties as directed by the Department Head or Supervisor, as needed. Required qualifications * Doctoral degree (DVM, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. * Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student-centered pedagogy. * Strong interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills; proven ability to contribute constructively to a collegial instructional team. * Legal authorization to work in the United States at the time appointment begins and for the duration of employment. Preferred qualifications * Formal training and/or documented experience in veterinary gross anatomy, comparative anatomy, and/or neuroanatomy. * Experience with cadaver preparation/preservation techniques and specimen curation. * Familiarity with digital anatomy tools (3D imaging, virtual anatomy platforms), prosection development, or innovative anatomy pedagogy. * Prior experience mentoring students and training technical staff. * A record or clear plan for scholarly activity (research, educational scholarship, or curriculum development). Salary & benefits: In compliance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act, the anticipated annual base salary range is $115,000 - $145,000. Actual offers will reflect the candidate's qualifications and experience, position responsibilities, internal equity, and market factors.
