A research hospital in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a licensed pharmacist to support maternity leave coverage in a full-time contract role lasting six weeks. The position involves preparing medications for both research and standard care use, requiring experience in IV preparation and cleanroom procedures. Key responsibilities include safely compounding, dispensing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals; monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions; verifying technician workflow and pharmacy operational tasks; providing pharmacological guidance to healthcare and research teams; and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as NYSBP, TJC, DEA, FDA, NIH, and NYDOH. Additional duties involve maintaining sterile environments, managing investigational and commercial drug inventories, and participating in clinical research meetings. Qualifications and desired experience: Active NY pharmacist license in good standing Minimum of 2 years hospital pharmacy experience, specifically with IV preparation and sterile product handling Proficiency with hospital electronic health record systems (Cerner, EPIC, or similar) Ability to interpret and dispense medications according to clinical trial protocols independently Familiarity with controlled drug inventory systems and automated dispensing machines Certification in sterile product preparation (BCSCP) preferred or willingness to obtain Experience working within a research-focused academic environment is a plus Location: Brooklyn, New York Schedule Options: Full Time: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Part Time: 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in pharmacy practice to a dynamic research hospital setting.
