Job Description

Support students in an important role as a Bus Aide, providing safe and attentive care during their transportation to and from school. This position offers part-time, contract work with a predictable schedule, ideal for individuals interested in making a positive impact in the educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to students requiring assistance while on the bus. Ensure the safety and comfort of students during morning and afternoon routes. Assist with boarding, exiting, and securing students safely with bus restraints and equipment. Communicate effectively with bus drivers, school staff, and families regarding student needs. Support students in maintaining appropriate behavior and a calm atmosphere during transport. Qualifications and Experience: Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred but not required. Ability to provide compassionate 1:1 care for students with diverse needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to follow a consistent schedule. Patience and adaptability in working with children in a transportation setting. Location and Schedule: Work sites located in Seattle, WA, and surrounding areas. 15 hours per week, approximately 3 hours daily. Shifts typically run 90 minutes in the morning between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM and 90 minutes in the afternoon between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM.
