Prepares and distributes accurate copies of PHI and documentation to appropriate customers in a timely manner. Maintains appropriate reference sources. Prepares and distributes accurate reports and documentation to appropriate customers. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities * Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position. * Demonstrates interpersonal skills. * Requires the ability to handle confidential information * Deals effectively with hospital personnel & duties of position. * Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills. * Skill sets in regards to answering telephones, balancing figures, inputting data into computer programs, maintaining filing systems, maintaining logs, updating patient charts including documentation and proofreading. * Maintains work area according to OSHA and NIOSH standards. * Skill sets in regards to equipment including but not limited to calculators, typewriter, fax machines, laser printer, personal computer, photocopier and word processor. * Software mastery to include but not limited to: State of Texas Birth Certificate Registry System, 3M Softmed Chart Release, Chart View, IDX, Allscripts and additional software as needed.
