This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Contact , the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistance Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Duties: The Lead PACT Physician at the Syracuse VA Medical Center provides administrative, programmatic, and clinical leadership for primary care services at the Syracuse location to ensure achievement of VHA clinical and education goals. The incumbent reports to the Associate Chief of Staff for Primary Care ICC at the Syracuse VA Medical Center under the Primary Care Line. This position is a dual clinical (51%) and administrative role (49%). Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Provide Primary Care patient care approximately 50% of the time as assigned * Be required to supervise and provide administrative support 50% of the time as assigned * Functions as site director & preceptor for students and residents in the clinic setting as assigned * Serves as the Primary Care Liaison to the Designated Women's Health Program * Leads and supervises operations and medical providers in Primary Care * Supervises Float Providers (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Doctors) in the Syracuse VA clinics * Participates in activities/committees/boards impacting patient care, Veteran access, staff performance and morale as assigned * Reviews, interprets and effectively uses performance reports benchmark data, budget cost/expenditure documents, staffing and other reports in decision-making * Quality Improvement: directs the continuous measurement and improvement of the quality timeliness, and patient satisfaction * Responsible for assuring appropriate action in such matters as promotions, selections, rewards and recognition, training and problem resolution as these actions related to the service The ideal candidate would have: * Demonstrated commitment to an interdisciplinary approach to care delivery * Documented ability to coordinate a broad continuum of programs * Management experience with strong administrative and interpersonal skills * Demonstrated skills in providing clinical interface with other disciplines represented at the Binghamton CBOC and other key stakeholders Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm (or as per the needs of the service)
