This role focuses on assembling and testing precision systems that integrate optical, mechanical, and electronic components. The technician will follow engineering procedures and drawings while contributing suggestions to improve production efficiency and system performance. The role also involves testing assemblies, verifying work order components, and supporting cross-training initiatives within the production team. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced assembly of optical systems for lasers and electro-optical sensors and instruments.Follow written procedures and engineering drawings and suggest improvements to optimize production processes.Assemble and debug systems incorporating optical, mechanical, and electronic components.Test multiple levels of assembly (4 5 processes) at the system level using laboratory instruments such as interferometers and Zygo equipment.Audit work order kits from the warehouse to verify parts and correct part numbers.Prepare subassembly components for system assembly.Perform alignment, optimization, stability checks, and transmission testing for optical systems.Package completed assemblies when final builds are finished.Participate in cross-training activities as both trainee and trainer when required. Required Experience 2 4 years of opto-mechanical or optical assembly experience.Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.Experience assembling systems containing optical, mechanical, and electronic components.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Experience entering production or testing data into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Nice-to-Have Experience Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent training.Experience using optical measurement instruments such as interferometers and Zygo equipment.
