Position Type: Cafeteria/Lunchroom MonitorDate Posted: 4/15/2026Location: Northlake Middle SchoolDate Available: 2026-2027 School YearClosing Date: Until Position FilledLUNCHROOM MONITOR Effective 2025-2026 School YearQualifications: High School Diploma; previous work with childrenReports to: Building AdministratorsEvaluation: As determined by the DistrictWork Calendar: 174 work daysPosition Goal: To assist in the supervision of the lunchroom/cafeteria, therefore creating a pleasant, orderly and clean lunchroom atmosphere in which students can enjoy their food and companionship of friendsRate of Pay: $15.00 per hour, position is not eligible for benefitsThe Lunchroom Supervisor shall be responsible for the following duties and perform other duties as assigned by the administrator or their designee:Superintendent/Board:Observe and adhere to all Board of Education policies and regulations, and all administrative rules and proceduresFollow all State of Illinois codes relative to the requirements of the food service program including food allergies, FDA rules and Health Dept.Building:Supervise students during lunchtime in the cafeteria and as needed/ directed in the gymnasium, playgrounds, hallways and bathroomsClean lunch tables every day as needed using the appropriate cleaning solutions and materialsAssist in seating students to the extent necessaryProvide assistance to students with handicapsEncourage students to eat their lunchesOrganize the students for an orderly dismissalMaintain a safe environmentMaintain a reasonable noise/volume level so as not to disturb other classes and to be able to make announcements if necessaryIndividual:Exhibit confidentiality in relation to students, parents and staffRemain current in the use of First Aid, CPR, Heimlich Maneuver, EPI Pen and the AED (if required by Administration)Be knowledgeable of and implement the District Safety PlanPhysical Requirements:Ability to move tablesFrequent and prolonged standing, walking and bendingExposure to noise and activity levels associated with school life
