Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and talented physician to join our Hospitalist team with the Department of Medicine. We serve a culturally diverse population with a wide spectrum of medical conditions. A Hospitalist is a physician specializing in the comprehensive care of hospitalized patients. They manage patient treatment from admission to discharge, coordinate with specialists, and ensure continuity of care.Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220-bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and Western Queens. We serve a variety of cultural and ethnic communities. We are committed to quality and compassion in addressing the healthcare needs of urban neighborhoods.As a Hospitalist Physician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality inpatient care at our institution. The Hospitalist will be responsible for managing patient health conditions, coordinating with other healthcare professionals, and providing patient consultations. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable about internal medicine, can handle acute medical conditions, and has strong expertise in performing a variety of medical procedures. If you are passionate about Hospitalist care and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate patients to assess their medical condition and to establish treatment protocolsDevelop and manage treatment plansOrder and interpret diagnostic testsPerform medical procedures as neededCoordinate and oversee patient care in the hospital, including specialists and ancillary staffMonitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordinglyCommunicating with patients and families about conditions and care plansMaintain accurate and up-to-date medical recordsParticipating in hospital committees and quality improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with healthcare laws and hospital policiesQualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalentCompletion of post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal MedicineCurrent, unrestricted New York State license.Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.Excellent communication, bedside manners and organizational skillsComfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft OfficeACLS/BCLS certificationExperience in inpatient care (1-3 years preferred)Skills and CompetenciesStrong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary teamCompassionate and patient-centered approachOrganizational skills to manage multiple patients effectivelyWork EnvironmentInpatient hospital setting7 days on/7 days off work scheduleReports to Chief HospitalistWe offer an attractive salary, paid malpractice, generous paid time off program, CME days plus allowance, retirement benefits and a competitive benefit package. Compensation ranges from $240K to $260K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits) based upon years of experience.
