Quality Assurance Technician - Food Production (3rd Shift) Location: Tempe, AZ 85282 Pay: $27.00 per hour Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM Employment Type: Contract | Potential Extension Based on Performance Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support quality control operations within a fast-paced food production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring product safety, compliance, and adherence to established quality standards through testing, analysis, and documentation. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on laboratory experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a structured, production-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Perform product sampling, testing, plating, and analysis, accurately recording resultsMaintain and organize daily quality and production recordsConduct data entry, tracking, and interpretation of test results and trendsExecute QC hold procedures for out-of-specification productsFollow and adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and ensure compliance with required frequenciesAssist in maintaining a 5S standard of excellence within the facilityCalibrate and troubleshoot laboratory and testing equipmentInvestigate and follow up on customer complaints, partnering with production teamsManage and maintain product specifications and quality documentationSupport implementation of GMPs, food safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standardsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality auditsCommunicate daily with leadership regarding production or quality issuesMaintain inventory of laboratory and sanitation suppliesPerform additional duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required3-5 years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing or food production environmentPreferred Experience & Knowledge Experience with microbiological, chemical, physical, and organoleptic testingKnowledge of HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and food safety regulationsExperience in plant sanitation programs and quality control systemsFamiliarity with regulatory compliance standards within food manufacturingRequired Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standardsAnalytical thinking with the ability to identify trends and resolve issuesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication skills across production and leadership teamsStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionProficiency with Windows-based computer systems and data entry toolsFlexibility to adapt to changing production needs and schedulesPhysical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 poundsWork performed in a production and laboratory settingExposure to food manufacturing environment conditionsMust follow all safety, sanitation, and compliance protocolsAdditional Requirements Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions or sponsorshipMust be able to work assigned shift consistentlyWhy This Role Competitive pay for skilled QA professionalsOpportunity to work in a regulated, high-impact food production environmentExposure to quality systems, compliance, and continuous improvement processesPotential for assignment extension based on performance and business needsSearch Keywords / Alternate Titles Quality Assurance Technician, QA Technician, Food Safety Technician, Quality Control Technician, Lab Technician, Microbiology Technician, Food Production QA, Compliance Technician, GMP Technician, HACCP Technician Job RequirementsThroughout the past 35+ years, MMC, one of the most trusted names in workforce management services, has successfully delivered strategic solutions to large and small businesses in numerous industries.
