DescriptionOPPORTUNITY The Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health (OSPH) at UT Southwestern is seeking a dynamic, accomplished professional at the [Associate/Full] Professor level to establish and develop research opportunities for Clinical Data Coordination Center grants. The school is poised to grow further in a short period of time.UT SOUTHWESTERNA research powerhouse: home of 6 Nobel Prize winners, 254 members of the National Academy of Medicine, 25 members of the National Academy of Sciences, and 14 Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigators.Among the top 20 Best Large Employers in America in Forbes and Statista for 2023.3000+ full-time faculty who garner more than $71679 million in annual grant funding for research.Top 3 globally for health care institutions in Nature Index for published research for the last decade.Access to large amounts of data for research through multiple large health systems - Parkland Health, Children's Health, Texas Health Resources, the VA North Texas, and Texas Scottish Rite for Children.THE DEPARTMENT - HEALTH DATA SCIENCES AND BIOSTATISTICSThe Department of Health Data Sciences and Biostatistics (HDS&B) is rapidly growing department, led by Yang Xie, PhD, Professor and Associate Dean of Data Sciences and includes 27 faculty members and an additional 20 faculty with primary appointments in other Departments and with secondary appointments in HDS&B.This group includes highly trained biostatisticians and data scientists with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), and with insight and experience in current and emerging uses of research and clinical data to impact biomedicine and public health.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop transformational clinical data coordination grants and work with a broad range of constituencies in the development of a state-of-the-art opportunies that will lead the institution into the future.Identify and secure external funding to support center operations including from NIH, DOD, PCORI, CDC, state and local agency, and industry partners.Lead the implementation of data management systems and tools-work with collaborators to build data management and tools to support the clinical and research enterprises and support the needs of individual investigators.Foster collaborations with researchers inter and intra institutional-build bridges with the clinical departments and faculty and the health systems to mentor junior faculty and staff in data coordination methodologies, and design and implement data coordination infrastructure for large-scale clinical studiesEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and data security standardsQualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSA doctoral Degree (Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent) in Biostatistics, Heath Data Sciences, Health Informatics, Clinical Investigation or Research, or related field with experience and achievements appropriate for appointment as associate or full professor.Significant experience in academic or healthcare data management, program development, education, and research or scholarship is expected.Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating clinical data to facilitate research and operational needs including a deep understanding of the regulatory, security and privacy aspects of data management.Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and leadership skills and success in a complex environment.Track record of achievement in team building, and managerial and strategic thinking.History of successful research funding (ex.
