DON position at Regency Huntsville.Regency Senior Living is a Non-Mandate CompanyaGeneral Purpose:Responsible for participation, observation and validation of the delivery of care to residents on assigned Unit. Identify resident needs and review with DON, participate in the creation of care plans, administer nursing care, identify nursing care, observe CNAs and other personnel and provide findings to DON in charge.Essential Job Functions:This facility expects their employees to promote an atmosphere of teamwork with other employees and hospitality and comfort for its residents. Therefore, the following list of duties is not all-inclusive:Attend required meetingsLead, observe, manage, and monitor LPNs, CNAs, and Caregivers and report findings to the DON in charge. Lead and manage LPNs, CNAs, and Caregivers in the performance of the departmental goalsParticipate in care planning, addressing immediate nursing problemsCollect data required to maintain quality assurance and provide findings to the DONAssist with monitoring resident careAssist with resident care on the Unit per DON direction, as neededPromote favorable working conditions and relationships with the administration, medical staff, consultants, other departments, residents, family members, volunteers, agencies, and any other individuals or groups affiliated with the Unit and the facilityReport to the DON in Charge occurrences that require immediate actionPromote a safe working environment by complying with infection control and body mechanics proceduresPerform treatments or venipunctures as directed by the DONInform Central Supply of any supplies that are needed for the UnitAttend in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirementsBe familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the informationMaintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/informationProtect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuseProtect the personal property of the residents of the facilityOthers duties as directed by the supervisor or administratorInterview, hire and/or terminate associates for the departmentComplete all job performance reviews as neededAs departmental leader, you will work with scheduler to ensure proper coverage for all LPN, CNA and/or Caregiver shiftsMinimum QualificationRegistered Nurse with current state license.Excellent technical and documentation skillsGood leadership qualitiesOrganized and detailed in work performanceGood communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patienceGenuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facilityComply with the Residents Rights and Facility Policies and ProceduresPerform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined abovePerform Essential Job Functions as outlined above
