Job Purpose: * The Peer Specialist at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER will leverage their personal experience with mental health or substance use recovery to provide support, guidance, and advocacy for individuals seeking recovery. The role is pivotal in fostering a supportive environment that encourages clients to pursue and maintain their recovery journey. Key Responsibilities: * Utilize personal recovery experience to inspire hope and provide peer support to clients. * Assist clients in developing their own recovery goals and plans, offering guidance and encouragement throughout the process. * Facilitate group support sessions to promote peer interaction and shared experiences. * Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients. * Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the behavioral health system. * Provide education and resources to clients and their families about recovery and wellness strategies. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress. * Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in peer support.
