Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYResponsible for daily operations of Home Care office functions including but not limited to: patient registration, insurance verification, screens and directs telephone calls, provides service to patients, in their home, on the phone and at the out-patient building. Responsible for all processes relating to patient supplies. Includes patient equipment, oxygen set-up and providing patient education. See required skills for details.Job RequirementsJOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required.Minimum Work ExperienceTwo years of experience is required if equivalent training has not been received.Previous healthcare experience preferredRequired SkillsExcellent customer skills. Computer skills as well as the ability to type with accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation is required. Having the ability to speak clearly and concisely with patients and providers is crucial. Must be able to perform duties and maintain personal conduct, attitude and appearance that conform to policies and procedures of the facility. Trains and serves as a resource person to staff.Floats to other areas as requested and responds to assignment with positive attitude.Participates in staff meetings.Maintains patient confidentiality.Knowledge of HIPAA awareness and compliance with emphasis on respect of the patients' right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.Maintains annual Employee Health screening requirements as required by policy.MATERIAL HANDLER (If Applicable)Orders and receives all materials delivered to the facility by various vendors.Unpacks and inspects all items received.Matches incoming supplies against packing slips.Makes corrections or adjustments to quantities of material stocked in relation to the PAR level.Accurately enters received inventory into system.Maintains all areas of material storage in a neat and organized manner, utilizing proper rotation.Prepares items for return shipment.Performs any duties assigned by the Home Medical Equipment Supervisor/Coordinator.Assists patients with pickups and deliveries.Prepares and/or orders supplies for patient delivery.Educates patient and family on the safety and use of home medical equipment.Inspects, cleans, tests, and maintains log of home medical equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently and orders repair when necessary.OXYGEN TECH (If Applicable)Sets up, operates home medical equipment following specified parameters of treatment, and maintains delivery logs.Maintains accurate manifest oxygen log.Completes timely visit documentation.Creates charge records accurately and timely.Maintains logs for inventory and issued equipment.Provides on call coverages for new set up/pickups and resolves equipment problems.Performs assessment to ensure home is safe for home medical equipment delivery and use and enforces safety rules.Cleans, inspects, tests and maintains log of all returned equipment.Ensures all necessary documentation is complete to allow for efficient billing/payment of claims.Assists patients with pickups and deliveries.Cleans, inspects, restocks, tracks and maintains logs for employee bags and totes.ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONST.J PledgeI Will Show Compassion-see all patients, family members, coworkers, physicians, and anyone else at T.J. as my customer.-recognize that each and every interaction I have at T.J.
